Specialized Dog Training
to address negative behaviors: fear, aggression, timidity, over-anxiety, running away, biting, barking, and car chasing.
Circle Training ©
has its origins in horse training. As a teenager Jane observed how control was achieved through gently bending a horse in a circle on a lunge line. Jane experimented with this method of training, and succeeded in applying it to dogs. Moving in a circle helps owners whose dogs are difficult to control. It is a
dynamic exercise that diffuses the dog's negative mood and creates a receptive state. This enables the dog to learn, and therefore work better. With correct positioning of the dog, the owner learns how to control without coercion. Circle training focuses both the owner and the dog creating a bond that results in trust, confidence, safety and affection.
Target Training
is especially valuable for feral dogs and trauma cases. Touching the dog with the object it is afraid of (e.g., an open hand) whilst reinforcing with food using the other hand, helps replace negative memory with positive reinforcement. Target training is a common, valuable tool used in training exotic animals. Jane employed this method with sea lions and dolphins in order to habituate them to human contact.
Leadless Training
no leash training. A more advanced form of training your dog without contact. Use of verbal commands and hand signals are applied. Positive reinforcement is conveyed verbally.
Medical Behavioral Training
to aid pets that are stressed at the vets! Gentle incremental training steps are initiated to habituate your
pets--dog, horse, cat, bird, to basic medical
procedures such as opening the mouth to accept medication willingly, allowing toe nails to be clipped, or hooves to be filed, eyes
and ears examined routinely with the result of minimum stress to the pet.
Specialized training fee is determined case-by-case.
